Open House Porto 2026 Volunteering: call for applications open for the 11th edition
The city will once again open its doors to architecture on 4 and 5 July 2026, with the 11th edition of Open House Porto. We invite everyone interested to join us this weekend, when architecture will once again be on display in the cities of Maia, Matosinhos, Porto, and Vila Nova de Gaia. -

CICA 2026 Conference – Call for papers
CICA 2026 – International Conference on Architectural Criticism will bring together researchers and critics at Casa da Arquitectura – Portuguese Centre for Architecture to discuss the theme “Architectural Criticism: Resistance and Commitment”, in a hybrid format scheduled for 10–11 and 17–18 October 2026. The initiative, promoted by the CICA International Committee of Architectural Critics, has already opened the call for abstracts, inviting the presentation of case studies visited by the authors that reflect the role of criticism as a space of resistance in the contemporary context. -

Casa da Arquitetura begins a new chapter with Pedro Violas as president
At its General Meeting today, Casa da Arquitetura elected new governing bodies, with Pedro Violas taking over as Chair of the Board, succeeding José Manuel Dias da Fonseca. The new term of office, covering the period 2026–2029, will for the first time last four years, marking a new phase of institutional consolidation following previous three-year cycles. -
